Release/PR strategy

I'm releasing a new app this week. I intend to release the teaser tonight and send off all the press releases tomorrow. Do you think I should release the app the same day as I send the press releases so they can download the app free straight away and don't forget it or should I hold back the release and hope they remember it and have more time to put up their reviews?

i would personally wait until the app is on the app store. That way there is no hassle for people to wait to view it.

The app has been apporved, i set the release date to next month, so that I can set it forward in order to release it tomorrow/Friday

You have nerves of steel, after all the mess that Apple is doing with Release date vs. Approval date I always release the minute it approves. I had two cases in which I released it 2 weeks after but the release day was set to the approval date in the App Store sorting (sending me back to page 12 of the Apps by Release Date list).

The App is available now, was too late to get the press release out, so will get them done and sent over the weekend and focus on youtube marketing.

    Here's the tutorial link:

I think it better to do your press releases as the app becomes available. We get a few in advance but prefer to keep things simple and review the app when readers can get the app too.
