Loading and saving attributes?

Hi.
I have Gamecenter enabled for a level playing game. In each level I have a save attribute for the score, but do I really need it to be in every level? or can I have it on a different scene?
Basically:
While the player is on lvl1 can the score save in the main menu simultaneously?
My concern is what if the player doesn't go back to the main menu during there game play will the score be saved regardless if they go back to the main menu?
Also does having 5 load attributes in the initial start scene slow your game down while it starts up?

I have 3 buttons. Will I need to have 3 save attributes even though there all saving the same thing?
or can I just have the 1 save attribute in a button, and if the player doesn't press this button will it save?
