What if I want the game name abbreviated on the actual game icon?

...But not in the itunes main list? My name is currently a little too long, so the iphone cannot display the full name and chooses ellipses in place of some of the letters. What I'd like to do is change the title ONLY on the icon, but have the name appear in "long form" everywhere else. Anyone know how to do this?

The name you will use when publishing through GS is the one that you will see under the icon on the devices.

The one you set up on iTC is the one you will see everywhere else.
