We NEED Android monetization (gathering support)

i think it's time to push for
- ads (RevMod, GreyStripe, Admob, etc)
- in-app purchases
- subscription via in-app purchases
Android is an interesting market, but without the strength of the 3 models above, i find it hard to compete.
Anyone want to push for this too? Please reply and support!

Problem is ... Its not all about you ... or me ... or any of us. Yes its true theres no lights on without us but its also true that GS need to make money in other ways. Ad Mob I'm assuming would not partner up, where as Kiip and PlayHaven have, resulting in some money for us and also some for GameSalad.
Is Kiip or PlayHaven a success story for GameSalad or GameSalad Developers?
Is it better for GameSalad to swing for the fences, or just keep moving forward with steady base hits?
In the other thread, I listed four missing GameSalad features...
• Universal Binaries
• AdMob
• HTTP Requests
• Professional Grade HTML5 exporting
None of those are really that challenging technically. That's one of my biggest problems with GameSalad... that my projects might have to underperform because it doesn't fit with GameSalad's revenue generating plans. It's why I hesitate to launch any new GameSalad project.
It's a tough spot for me, because I'm really impressed with the news of the GameSalad Windows Beta. That's a really good move.
So, I wait and watch. I wait to see how and when GameSalad will improve. -

Photics do you happen to have a programming background? I came from the HTML5/JS background. I got tired of building "bridges" from HTML5 to Native.
I have experience with web development languages, like HTML, PHP, javascript, ActionScript. I've also made apps with Eclipse/Android and Xcode. It's not fun for me. I don't like to code. It's just so tedious. I can think logically, but I hate having to keep track of things like curly brackets, semicolons and quotes. GameSalad is just more fun and much faster.
In the recent Business Insider article about GameSalad/Steve Felter, there was an interesting comment made by a poster... it's easy to hit the ceiling with GameSalad. Basically, the sentiment was echoed... that somehow an easier way to program is not real programming. I don't agree with this. I don't use a command prompt to copy files. I use software like Windows or Mac OS X. GameSalad is a translator, so I don't have to master multiple programming languages to port my game... Objective-C, Java, HTML5.
The real limitations on GameSalad are not technical. They're either by design (no coding) or political (Kiip/PlayHaven over AdMob).
Lately, much of my day is about web development. I make interactive web elements in Flash/AS2, so that it can be ported to HTML5 with Google Swiffy. (I still use Flash because HTML5 support is still spotty. http://html5test.com ) It's a really lame way to work, but that's because the HTML5 creation software hasn't matured. Quite often, I think to myself... "I could do this in like five seconds with GameSalad or Stencyl."
When I look at programs like Hype or Adobe Edge, I think GameSalad could blow them away.

monetization is a big factor hurting developers interest. Personally, i want to deploy all my games on android. But charging upfront will not get me any visibility.
Not millions...but it's deffo possible to make "some money" with paid apps on Play.
I see that you've posted in this thread...

Why do you think this thread will make a difference?
@scrapee_net - what's your game?
i think we need a variety of ways, not just one.
One thing i really liked was they truly listen to user feedback. So let's band together!
I've been successful with AdMob in the past.
@BazookaBen - In-App Purchases are available to Pro members.

As for marketing for the android version....we did the sum total of.....nothing at all. I didn't even do a Facebook post about it.
Anyway I think you could earn more with ads.
But i'm not waiting. I just keep building em games, launching em. When the time comes, i'll be ten times better with building games, and hopefully GS surprises me with an awesome revenue model.

perhaps samsung ads would be a solution. samsung devices are the most sold android phones
example galaxy II and samsung Note and the coming galaxy3 gonna be out soon.
Remember, our success is GameSalad's success.
