Best practice on IAP with lite versions

Looking for advice on an App I'm creating - it will be free and functional but for the extra features you can upgrade for 99 cents via in app purchase. Should I leave it as that - or treat this as a lite version and also offer a pro edition as a separate download?

essentially:

Lite version with in app upgrade only
OR
Lite version with in app upgrade
and
Pro version in store

Anyone have thoughts on best policy or results? Do two versions maximize your exposure?

    I would go free with iAP full game unlock. This way you get lots of downloads, thus moving you up on the list assuming you get good Reviews and ratings.

    Have the first world, 10-20-30 levels free, etc etc and then if they like it they can unlock the full game for a your price.

    But that's just me :p

    I agree, I think it is best to have one version of your game, users can get a taste for free, and purchase the full game if they wish.. I would have 'cliff hanger' just before they are asked to pay to unlock the full game.. This could be a boss, or story line, or something to try and leave the player wanting more.. my first game is coming up soon, and I have adopted this approach.. but I feel a few jitters too, so don't worry about it.. As Napoleon Dynamite says.. "just follow your heart"..

    Hey there,

    I've noticed if you create a "lite" version of the game, people will not download it nearly as much(30+ or - daily). However, if you just had one app that's free and had IAP, you'd be getting way more downloads(3,500+ in 24 hours).

    These have been the results of my app.

    Yea its kinda like free advertising. The more downloads the better.

    I did this approach and got 847 downloads my first 2 days cants wait to see today how many Downloads I got.
