Hi, yes ..so - testing it out during creation to make sure it's all going to plan? or is it best to wait until you have a completed app before testing out? presume that i have to pay to test out anything i make on an iPad?
If you are a new dev account, wait till your app is ready for testing and do it. The fee is annual, so there is no reason to rush into it if your game is far from being ready for testing. You need to have something to test first...
Keep in mind that if you are serious about testing your game (and you should be), the testing period might be as long as your development period.
@EatingMyHat it depends on the game itself - if you have some unique idea, which might me ram-hard for device it's better to test even very early project, so you won't have to start over, or redesign the entire game, when it's almost finished.
@TheMoonwalls I agree, I just think that you need to have something that needs testing, might be day one (e.g. unique game mechanics that you need to see how it plays), or a bit later (e.g. eBook or a template based game).
In any case, one thing is for sure... test, test, test, and than test some more. If you think you are done, have other people test it.
You really need to test with an adhoc build on your device. I have noticed in the two apps that I'm working on, the behavior is sometimes different between the preview mode in GS, the GS viewer, and the actual app running on the device. Nothing terribly significant, but sometimes I've had to adjust the responsiveness of controls or timing of things based on the adhoc.
