Actor Floating

So I found some free open source art on the inter webs and started playing around.

After 'dropping' my Playable Character into the scene and onto the 'blocks', it looks like it's just floating there.

Is a screenshot of the scene. . .and. . .

Is the grass block itself. So it seems the background of the grass block is transparent, but that is what the Playable Character is standing on and creating the 'floating' effect.

What would be the best way around this?

If I were to edit the photo and remove the background all together, then technical the PC would get caught on the little snippets of grass.

Would it be better to not create a collide effect with this actor? And instead create an invisible 'block' and just position it where it 'looks' like he's walking on top of it?

What about having two actors for the PC, have you image actor spawn an collision actor behind the image actor and then adjust the position of the spawn to suit the place the the image actor needs to collide with the block.

Then by using different layers for the PC and the Blocks you could create the effect of the actor in the right location.

EDIT: Sorry I may have got that mixed round and the collision actor would need to be applied to the Block instead.

I'll need to look up how to do layers. This is really just my first attempt and messing around with a potential game that isn't tied to a tutorial/walkthrough.

But I like the idea of this, it has potential.

I know I probably should have done with better images to give like an old school mario side scroller look or something. But when I saw this pack of open source clip art it just looked so good imo that I couldn't resist.
