Which is the better way to do an endless runner...?

...To have the hero stay still and move objects at him or make a large scene to move through that resets when the hero gets to the "end" of the scene? I can see advantages to both ways, but I'm not sure which one is more efficient.

Achieving 'endless' will be much harder if the Actor is the one that is moving, but both will work.

I would also recomend the hero standing still, working on a project like this right now, and it works like a charm.

I just did a test scene where the background scrolls endlessly and the hero is standing still. It's working great, but I'm just wondering about the enemies and obstacles. Timing out their behaviors to appear "on-screen" seems like it'll be pretty insane.

I was toying with the idea of an endless runner and ended up with the actor staying still, but as @chaley says the timers will get silly after a while won't they?

Has anyone created a successful endless runner with the "hero standing still" style?

I think e-Pig dash from @MagoNicolas is an endless runner where the actor is standing still :)

Both ways work well we made Shadow Run with the hero standing still and JetPack style where the hero moves and resets back to the start of the scene looping.
