just my opinion as a consumer but i really hate freemium games now. 99.9% of the time i wont bother downloading any of them no matter what it is. and when i do its just for a quick test of the game. when i actually buy the game im much more likely to sit down with the game because i dont want my money to goto waste.
I'll keep an eye on this one. Personally I don't like games with any adverts or extra content that requires payment, I prefer to pay once and just play the game.
But it'll be interesting to see which approach makes more sense from the game makers perspective.
I rather have a good paid game that does not force me to buy anything else. It's ok to have stuff to sell maybe to shortcut the game, but it should not be mandatory for the experience.
@MarkOnTheIron completely agree with you, it is much harder for indie games to make money in a Freemium ecosystem.
Premium: +Better experience for player +Easier to make money +You don't loose money as you delete the app. +Not focused on money -Not so many users as freemium
Freemium: +Many user -Worse experience for player -Hard to make money -Many people hate it -You can't relax while playing, it's always about money -Cheating with money -Focused on money
As I compare it I am gonna use the Premium system for my upcoming game. As you think about it you know why many people hate it, it's focused too much on money.
