Free App Promotion - Getting close to 10,000 Facebook fans

EatingMyHatEatingMyHat Member Posts: 1,246
Hi,

With the great participation from the GS community (and developers from other communities) I am now getting close to 10,000 fans on the Facebook page. Over the last couple of months, I posted on behalf of various developers more than 300 promo codes for around 80 different games and apps and it seems to draw attention. Seeing the posts, it really become a nice way to interact with customers as many (sadly not all) do post a quick thank you or Like the app once they get a promo. Everything also goes to Twitter as well (3000 follower), but the main channel is Facebook.

The offer to promote GS games and apps is still very much open (and very much free) - but please read the guidelines that are at the end of this post.

Instructions for participation:
1. Go to my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/EatingMyHat and Like it
2. Send me a message with the iTunes link and Promo Codes (as much as you want to give)
3. Your app will be posted in a few days (see guidelines)

Cheers,
GR

Guidelines
1. The concept is to post a Promo Giveaway, I believe focus is important so I do not post Free or Android apps
2. I will be happy to post an additional link to your Facebook page, web site or Lite version as part of the Promo Give Away
3. It is free, you can look at the page and decide if you like it or not - if you don't think it's worth 3-5 promo codes, don't do it
4. Good marketing practice will be that once I post your app you will comment, share, like and retweet it, but it's up to you
5. I reserve the right to post or not to post, your promo codes are only for my followers, if I choose not to post them, I will let you know and they will remain unused
6. Make sure that they codes that you send me are unused and have at least a week before they expire. I check all codes before posting (redeem-now.com does the check) and will not post used codes.

No. I never tried it but Facebook is charging money for promoting posts (from $5 to $50). Since I am not charging anything, I'm also not spending anything.

I don't know how intrusive it is (maybe someone else on the forum tried it), but if it is not intrusive, I guess I wouldn't mind doing it if you will cover the cost. I really don't want to do anything that people will see as intrusive, the 'Unlike' rate is VERY low (2-3 a week) and I want to keep it that way, or lower :).

Thanks, its has it ups and downs based on the amount of promo codes that I publish, but based on the comments there is some good interaction.

Can you promote our launch event?
Our game have a exclusive soundtrack by a great brazilian band called Dr.Sin
The game will be launch in a great brazilian music festival and we will count with a large stand with t-shirts and game souvenirs.
We would like to promote our english page and the portuguese page as well.

We can promote your page too (we have almost 200 users only)

When the game become available we can give you promo codes.

    What do you think?

@NeoGeekStudios When your game is out, send me the promo codes, iTunes link and your Facebook line and I will post it to my page.

If there will be some other special offer that you would like to promote, let me know.

Sounds like a successful "operation" you have going on. :) I have a good free game, but I guess I'll have to wait until I publish a paid one to give you some promo codes.

Thanks Jack. True, I focus only in Promo Codes, there are other pages that do free games (see the useful links sticky). Will be happy to post your paid app once you will have one.

    Are you still doing that?
EDIT: Posted in wrong thread. BigDave, it's possible. He's done it with me a few times, however, that was months ago.

Sorry guys, I have been away for more than a year now. Thinking of maybe checking what was going on with GS and maybe get started on a new game.

I am looking for someone who might want to co-admin this page and publish the codes for GS developers that want it.
