How do I get parts of actors to be transparant?

Right now, there's a white border around all my actors.

    Here's what I do for all of my images...

    Open the .png file in preview (a mac program) >
    Click on the box in the menu bar in the window >
    Click on "Instant Alpha" >
    Select the white background by clicking and dragging >
    Hit the delete button & save.

    You have to make a transparent background in your images.

    I think what you want to do is when you create your actor (image) in your graphics program, is to make sure you create the image with a transparent background. I used Adobe illustrator and Abobe Photoshop. When I export out my images I make sure the background is transparent. That way you only get your image without the outline box your image is on. I hope this makes sense.
