I'm trying to upload my game onto my iPhone for adhoc testing. I've followed tshirtbooth's tutorial video on this () and have successfully made my .app file. BUT, now that I have the .app file from gamesalad, what do I do??? In the video it says to just drag the file onto Xcode and it will go in your iPhone's applications... his version of Xcode is different. I have Xcode 3.2.6

Or can I use iTunes for this? HELP I HAVE THE .APP FILE WAAA

Check out the cookbook, I think they have a section on adhoc builds

There's no section for ad hoc in the cookbook... just publishing to iOS store :((

I just need to get .app file on my phone, period

Just drag it onto iTunes and sync it like any other app. .app is an actual application not an Xcode project like the viewer.

    I've tried that too.
It will go to the list of my apps, show the icon on my phone, but while it's loading say "_____ failed to download" and delete it

I've even tried converting .app to .ipa and doing it

I just don't know what to do, I wish my Xcode was like tshirtbooth's is in the video so I could do exactly what he did. iTunes won't work :(

Did you build an adhoc or a distribution profile. You need to do an adhoc profile not distribution as you can only install adhoc on device. Distribution builds can only got to iTunes app store. I suspect you built the wrong kind.

Hmm, well I followed TSB's video exactly, and he always did everything in the Distribution tabs on the Provisioning Portal...

I probably did build the wrong kind? How do I fix this/where are the ad hoc building options in the Apple Provisioning Portal?

First if you are on snow leopard you should have Xcode 4.2 installed. 3.2 is very old. Second watch the video again he shows you and clicks the box for adhoc, the box for app store is preselected so if you didn't do that you didn't do exactly as he did. Make sure you have the provisioning profile on your device too.

OKAY I basically just like reinstalled all the provisioning profiles and everything and made another .app file, and put it in iTunes and it synced to my phone...

I hardly even know how this happened but it's on my phone =))

Thanks for the help though yall!!
