Uk development- Import a Kindle fire or use a Nook

The concept of developing for android is getting a little confusing to say the least. I found out I may need to import a kindle fire from the US but that many functions will not work. So I will ask you all a few questions and would be very grateful to hear from anyone with a similar experience.

First of all, should I import a kindle fire or simply buy a Nook?

I hear that the nook may not perform as accurately as the kindle in terms of representing the app for different devices... what are your opinions on this?

If I develop an app for the amazon store or the Nook store do they automatically appear on the entire android store or do android users have to browse separate stores. I read that you have to submit to the nook store instead of just a general android store but this confused me as I also read you need to setup and pay for an google play account for androird.

I've done a lot of reading on this and the opinions are so mixed its impossible to get a decent list of pro/cons. My main aim is to expand the app outreach and place it on the largest most visible market there is, even though I realise that sales won't be great on android, the exposure should be worth the input.

The Kindle Fire and Nook Color are exactly the same hardware.
The stores are all different. For my game, I released to Google Play, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble, but the version is identical for all three.

So if I have a google play account paid for does that cover the amazon and B&N or will i need to pay for those ones as well?

They are completely separate stores. Amazon and B&N are free for the first year. Google Play is $25.

I imported a Kindle off eBay and couldn't be more happy. I only bought it as a testing device, so not overly bothered that the App Store doesn't work, but when the UK is supported with Kindle 2, the App Store on Kindle should work fine. It's an issue with licensing.

I was originally waiting for the Kindle Fire to come to the UK as well, but ended up getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch instead, same hardware (can get it for 199 GBP in UK here). As Ace said, it's likely we'll be getting the Kindle Fire 2 instead in UK at some later stage

@Chobbiface have you released an app or fully tested on the GT2.7i?

I hear kindle fire 2 could be as late as December. How long does an import from the US generally take? Are there normally any problems within the gamesalad project when it comes to porting. Will i need to mod the graphics?
