hello everyone, im a new user of gamesalad for windows beta and i am very happy because until now gamesalad is working GREAT!!! for me. i have little bit of experience of how things work when it comes to graphics and i want to know what is the easiest way to create graphic for gamesalad. i know you can make 3d models and animations and then make 2d frames of it but the thing is that it take way too much to make it and is really hard so i was thinking if i can make my own 2d drawings and then animate it with some program like photoshop but im not sure is this is possible

kinzua Posts: 554@thepra13 Its possible.. just induce a bit of patience in your workflow. GS supports nearly all kinds of image files. The anim in GS is based on sprite anim.
Use Photoshop or any other s/w to edit ur art. You can use practically any software, just keep ur art in 72 ppi and RGB.
Have an art style that suits ur expertise and EXECUTE it well. Do the art not the software. -

You can take an existing animation you like and use it as an example by putting it in a layer in photoshop. Then put a layer on top of it with your character or body parts and place them like the example.
I don't know if you can download the platform example in the windows creator but there is a perfect animation of a blue character in there you can use as an example.
Hope this makes sence. Otherwise ask
Good luck! -
dmilinovichiii Posts: 620The most popular programs for art on this forum are:
Inkscape: Free http://inkscape.org/download/?lang=en
Photoshop: Paid http://www.photoshop.com/
My personal favorite is online and is built into the browser so it doesn't require a download. The best part is it is free.
Pixlr: Free http://pixlr.com/editor/
For 3D art, Blender is one of the most popular although I have no personal experience with it.

jckmcgraw Posts: 647My recommendation Inkscape because I love making vector art with it. You can download it for free, and if you don't like it, it's not a big deal. If you use Inkscape, search "SpriteAttack's art tutorials" in the forums. They helped me a lot!
