How to do a seem less background of X axis

Hi there.! I'm doing a side scrolling and I want to know how can I make the background that never end ? I dont seem like a tile background... Help please

Thanks EatingMyHat!!!! i tried the file that you provided me! but what about the background ? sometime i see the background it won't repeat ...any suggestion?
