    Unfortunately not everyone has the time or care to review someones game. However don't let that put you off, its normal, happens to everyone. You just can't expect to have an influx of reviews when asking for them.

    Many of us know its tough, but keep at it don't worry. Reviews will build up slowly as people get your game so don't loose hope.

    I tell you again: Better spend your promo codes on Touch Arcade forum or Promo Dispenser.

    Users are surely more intersted in your game than other developers. It is just wasting your codes here. Really.

    I personally have no intention to try other people's apps and it's not because I am not interested or I am rude, but I have no time to download and play it. I have 3 games now I have to support, I have several websites to make and maintaine and many other things.

    I am fully stretched with testing my own games.

    It seems that the GS user base is growing rapidly. As a result...it seems like about 10 people a day are publishing games.

    I sometimes check links in a new game post (I can't believe over half of these new game posts don't provide a link to it). I give it the 3 second sniff test. If it looks good and looks like somebody spent more than 1 week on it (which seems to be case of about 90% of the new games right now...a lot of junk game apps)...I look a little closer.

    If the game appeals to me and/or is uniquely original and/or appears to be quite deep and complex/multi-layered in design...then I give it a test drive...otherwise I leave the codes for others to use. (I mean really...I can only play so many doodle jump knockoffs, Kill the King ripoffs or 3 level platformers. I didn't like the original Doodle Jump anyway.)

    If the game looks like someone spent a lot of time and effort and put out a really good product (ie. Matching Match and GoinNutty recently), then I actually buy it and support them in their effort.

    Perhaps this is a similar approach for many.

    This isn't a specific criticism towards you...just a possible explanation for lack of enthusiasm towards you and many other new game developers just joining in the GS fun.

    Yep Promo code dispense is bes. In my opinion too

    I got like 20 reviews in one day. No joke. Most good, even te bad ones had good advice.

    I agree with you Synthesis that there are some junk game apps out there, and I will be the first to admit, I scower the app store carefully before purchasing an app, but I feel different with Gamesalad users.

    We have a wide variety of people on here creating games, from all different walks of life, and all ages.

    I couldn't believe some of the younger kids that were on here publishing games, and it's a kudos to them!

    There are also people on here with ZERO programming experience, and one man/woman publishers.

    I am one of them for sure, and I can say with confidence that each time I create an app, I feel it gets better than the last.

    I personally like to promote newbies, and give them a chance because I was there once.

    Nothing against your opinion, but I just want to congratulate all users including Chosenone on here for being able to publish an application.

    So having been a Gamesalad member for a year, I must say, the program has come along quite nicely, and the userbase has expanded greatly, and it's great to see so many people on here creating apps everyday!

    I try to review GS user's apps when I have a chance, but it's hard to keep up!

    So while I'm one of those gamers with discerning taste, I go easier on the folks at Gamesalad, well, because of what I said above.

    And I did review your app chosenone :) Hang in there, and try promoting your app in other places, Toucharcade is the best.

    People will eat up those codes like they're hostess cupcakes!

    Off to bed now, I was running on 8 cylinders this morning, but that was like 23 hours ago... ZZzzzzzzzz

    I understand what you are saying. And I want to reiterate that I wasn't speaking specifically to Choosenone...but in general.

    I too think it is great that younger or "unskilled programmers" can create games with GS. That is what makes it so special.

    What I was trying to suggest above is that lack of response may be due to the sheer numbers of games coming out...and unless the game is EXCEPTIONAL...it may have difficulty getting attention on this forum.

    I consider myself a "pro" developer. I am not suggesting that everyone should be "professionals" to work with GameSalad...as most are not. But I do not want to sugar coat reality either.

    The game development "business" is VERY difficult to play in. If you are in it for the $$$...then you have to be REALLY good at it. But if you are a hobbyist...then great...there is plenty of room for those game dev types too. But as Hunn suggests above, lack of interest in this forum is not necessarily due to game quality...but the fact that this is a Dev forum and not a "Gamer" forum...so interest at times in a new game may be lackluster.

    I offer critical analysis to those I give it. Sometimes it good...sometimes not so good. But I try to be sincere and professional about the criticism or kudos I give. I have found in my experience that criticism is 100 times more valuable than praise...because it makes you better.

    Here is what I think of your game. I will try to be honest and thoughtful about it. First of all...I have not played it. To be honest...$2 for the game is outrageous...I highly recommend that you drop it to $1 or free. I judge a lot of a game by its screenshots a dev provides in the app
    store since this is what the "market" of users out there will be using to determine if they want to buy the game. Regardless of the quality of the game...the screenshots are the only method available to close a sale.

    The screenshots you provided tell me its a very "immature" product. I don't mean that its bad...I mean that it is definitely not a pro-grade app because the graphics are somewhat amateurish. Now if this were a free app...this would be more forgiving for me...but at $2, I would expect a very rich and beautiful game to play.

    The screenshots also suggest a very 1 dimensional game. It seems that the game play seems very "simple" and not very exciting. Sure the flying taco is cool, but with a "generic" score counter and user interface that is...well...quite bland to be brutally honest...the game does not scream at me that I will waste tons of hours playing an "awesome" game. Plants vs. Zombies is $3 and I picked up Tiger Woods Golf for $1. This just isn't in the same league.

    But this critique doesn't mean that this isn't a great "first-crack" at game development for you. My criticism is based on total picture...of price vs. quality. There are some really crappy games out there with AWESOME graphics that make a killing while there are some more awesome games (alpine crawler comes to mind) that also make a killing but the graphics package is a bit mundane or lackluster.

    My advice to you is make this game FREE. Let people enjoy it. Don't save it for the 3 people that might drop $2 on it. In the meantime...Take very careful thought in what your game is trying to do. Don't try to do what 10000000000 other devs are doing...try to do something unique and different. Duo Gravity is a great example. He made Apple's New and Noteworthy with a game that is fairly simple to program...has fairly simple graphics to it...was well thought out and well executed into a game that is interesting, unique and fun to play.

    Hopefully this will help you on your next project. I do encourage you to continue to develop games. I have no idea if you are 14 or 41...but regardless...be interesting...be creative...come up with 50 AWESOME ideas for games and pick the 3 that you and your friends think would be the best. Then build those 3. Make 2 of them free (with advertising in it for your 3rd). Then make your 3rd game cost $1. Do this I you could actually make some decent money at this and have fun doing it.

    A good rule of thumb is...If it takes you less than 2 solid hard working months to build...its probably a freebie and not worth charging even a $1. There are exceptions...but rarely.
