Hi, so I'm trying to buy a new macbook pro. I already asked a question to the community about this, but I was wondering if I should buy refurbished from apple or just look on craigslist. I have a feeling that buying from apple would be best, but I don't know if I should. Can someone give me confirmation?

Thanks

I would say if you're comfortable with computer hardware and you feel confident you can test the machine thoroughly before purchasing it, a third-party vendor might be okay, but otherwise I'd stick to Apple, especially if you can get a warranty.

It's very easy to make a malfunctioning computer look just fine, as it is to make a malfunctioning car look just fine.

I got a refurbished 13inch MacBook from Apple for under a $1000.00. This is my first Apple computer. I got it back in February to try my hand at GameSalad and Xcode development. I really didn't want to spend that much on a new computer. Last year I got a top of the line ThinkPad laptop for my music production. 1 terabyte hard drive, 16 gigs of ram. Cost me $3100.00

I LOVE the MacBook computers!!! I'm looking at getting another just as soon as I can make a little money from my game development.

they both are good ways, you can get a better deal off craigslist, but does it have a warranty? i bought mine new for 1399$ and put about 300$ worth of work into it so now it has a 1tb HDD, 8gig of ram and i have no problems with it. it is cheaper to buy a low end model and upgrade it yourself. you can buy all the parts from here http://otherworldcomputing.com/

Ok I think i'll go with apple, but if I were to drop the computer and it broke or something, would it be covered by the warranty?

No, not covered. That's an insurance matter, not warranty.
