Hello GS Community, i was wondering if someone could help me. I am trying implement iAds into my game and couldn't really find any GS tutorials on it (as far as best practices). I could have sworn that i saw a show iAds behavior somewhere but anyways i see that there is a show banner behavior, is that for iAds? And when i use the show banner (top) i want to rotate the banner sideways because i force my viewing screen to work sideways on a certain part of the app. Was wondering if this is possible. Thanks!

    Hi,

Yes, they replaced it with the Show Banner Behavior.
Just put that in an actor. When you publish, it will bring you to a new screen (new with the 0.9.93 release) that will say partners or something like that. Under one of the options, there will be option for iAds. Just check the "iAd" Option under that and you're ready to go.

    Hi there,

Yes, the Show Banner behavior refers to iAds. You will just want to make sure you enable support for iAd in your game when you publish it through GameSalad. It is one of the steps within the Publishing Manager.

To my knowledge, you can only select whether the banner is at the top or bottom of your screen. The orientation of the banner after that point depends on what target size you have set in your project (iPhone Portrait, iPhone Landscape, iPad Portrait, iPad Landscape, etc.) Hope that helps!

In order to use the Show Banner behavior, you have to be a Pro member!

Create an actor called "iAds", or something similar.
Then, drag your Show Banner behavior in that actor. Click back and drag the iAds actor onto the scene, but not on the screen. You could also throw a Change attribute self.colorAplha to 0 just to make sure no one sees the actor.

Sorry to necro this thread. Do the ad bar show up in development builds, or just ad-hoc and release builds?
