iPad retina icons blurry

I just started trying to make some games for the retina iPad, so far so good but the icon always looks low resolution. The game itself look perfect, nice and sharp. I've tried two games so far and both icons are fuzzy on the iPad, is there a setting I'm missing?

    It's a bug.

This is not the only one problem...
The icon is blurry, but the game is (A LOT) blurry on non retina devices (iPad 1 & 2)
The game looks perfect on the iPad 3.

Try that and you will see that this problem is much more bad than the blurry icon...

I think it really varies though for different people. It seems as though you three are experiencing this bug, but I have yet to come across it in my beta testing. If it is a truly big bug then I'm sure GS will take care of it, like they do with most problems we have around here.

    Cheers,

If you're used to the iPad 3, then when you go back to an iPad 2, it will look blurry to you (same form factor, much higher resolution on one device). The only apparent bug is the icon, which is low res on the iPad 3 retina.

The icon thing is a bug. Seeing blurry images on an iPad 1 or 2 isn't. I designed my game with Retina graphics from the start, and have no issues with them appearing blurry on iPad 1 and 2's. However, if your graphics are not authored in a way that allows them to be even divided by 2, then this may be what is creating the issue for you. It all comes back to how GS scales graphics.

Ah OK I'll wait for the fix, at least I know it's not something I'm messing up. Thanks.

Is there a workaround for this at all? Can I change the icon in the app package?

Oh, I don't have an iPad 2 to test this on. The game does look lovely and sharp on the iPad 3 though, which is probably why the icon looks even worse. Hmm not sure what to do now.

OK that makes sense, so there is no way of opening the package contents and recreating the icon?
