Importing art clarification.

When importing art for an IPAD2, with RI set, should I be creating all of my images at 2048x1536 and then resizing them in GS? Or should that just be my background.
I have been figuring out my character size, say 88x88, creating them in Illustrator at 176x176, then exporting them as PNG's. But, it seems at times the borders are not very clean and become distorted and pixelated. Is this just how it is when it comes to importing pixel art that is small?
And when I say I am creating them in illustrator at 176x176 I can not fill the whole document with the character, but I want to keep it divisible by 4 right? or does that only apply the image size in GS?
I know I am probably making this more complicated than it is, but want to get this right.
Thanks,
Crestwood

Hapiapps Posts: 373You should make the background 2048x1536 and the other characters with heights and widths devisable by 4 (and whole pixels). I think 176x176 was an example. It will look better if the art is the correct size when imported, changing the size in GS isn't always a good idea.

1. keep 'ALL' your art w.r.t 2048x1536. Not 'just' the background..
2. when you view your art in the viewer/mac, the borders will not seem to be clean (in ref to RI). This happens cos, you mac is not RI, not yet i.e. :-w But once you see it on the device, they'll b sharp as a blade. \:D/
3. It applies to the image size. For eg. if you img needs to be 175x175, so when you create a PNG, keep the art 175x175, but keep the art board as 176x176. It'll serve the purpose. If ur art needs to be 171x171, keep d artboard a s 172x172.
You are not complicating anything. Just take it slow n sweet, and u'll do it right. U know what i mean .. hehehehe..
But, I am a bit confused. In one you say keep all work at 2048 x 1536, but then say make it 176x176.
Just to clarify, I am using Illustrator and just saving for web. My background is 2048x1536, but I have been making my characters 176x176. Should I be making them all at 2048x1536 and then resizing them in GS?
