ipad resolution independence question

Should i check resolution independence if my ipad project is 1024x768? or do i only want to check it if my project is 2048x1536? Will my project look blurry on a new ipad if i check it at 1048x768?
Dont have an new ipad to test on unfortunately..

If your background images are already 1024 x 768, then don't check RI. This will mean that buyers of your app running it on iPas 1 & @ will see it as normal, and those running the app on iPad 3 will see it as if it was an iPad 1 or 2.

If you want your app to look its best when running on an iPad 3 then check IR, make all your full background images 2048 x 1536, as well as doubling the size of all your other images. With these double-size images, they will be automatically adjusted to single size images for iPad1 & 2 users.
