GPS connectivity and notifications.

Does GameSalad have anyway to link up to GPS features? So the app would execute an action based on location. Is that possible?

Also- With some apps you get notifications when it's your turn to play or what you need to perform an action. Does GS have this functionality?

If the answer to either one of these questions is yes, are their any tutorials available?

Unfortunately, the answer to both for now, is no.

I wouldn't know how difficult it would be to hand code something like GPS location based events with Xcode, but I wouldn't think it would be to hard for the notification to be implemented. Again, I don't know for sure.

And no, we do not have access to the code to manipulate it for any iOS feature additions.

Those would be 2 very cool features to be in GameSalad for sure. They have plans for adding more iOS functions, but when that will be, I'm not sure. Sorry for all the "No's" and I hope that doesn't deter you away from checking GameSalad out further, and seeing how fast you can get your idea into a working prototype.

It's my pleasure, and I hope that helps.

Ok, thanks for your reply. I was afraid that was the case.

You may not know, but I'll ask just in case. As far as hard-coding goes, how difficult/time-consuming are these features to produce? I have no knowledge of coding at all.

Also, pretty sure I read somewhere that once a game has been made in GS we have no access to the code itself to alter it. Is that true?

    Thanks again for your help.

That does help and I appreciate it.

It doesn't deter me, for sure. I can still see the multitude of benefits this program provides someone like me with lots of ideas but no coding experience.

Hopefully we'll see more features like this added in the future. I still have lots of learning to do, anyway. Just trying to get a good idea of what I can accomplish so I can know what direction I should start heading in.
