issues with Gamesalad on Macbook with Retina display (Workaround Found)

Hello everyone,
yesterday i have tested the GS Creator on my new Macbook with Retina Display, and unfortunately it does not work. All Images are displayed incorrectly. Every image in an actor is only partially shown, only the lower left corner is visible. It seems as if all pics are four times too big. That issue happens in all of my project, and i have downloaded some demos for testing purposes and there again: only a quarter of an image fits to the actor. I have tried everything, downloaded again the latest Creator, started a new project from scratch with new images (all are correct sizes with 72 dpi for sure...), tested all projects and demos...
On my old machine everything is working fine, so I guess it has to do with the Retina-Display Macbook.
Does anybody has the same problems?
Is there anybody with a new retina MB without theses issues?
I have contacted GS tech support yesterday.
I don´t want to develop on my old computer anymore, so if it is a serious bug I hope they will fix it real fast.

By the way the Retina MB is awesome, except for the GS issue.
All other Applications are working fine.
cheers
slowcut

    I saw that yesterday when i was playing around with one in the apple store. From what I could see, this issue only occurs when you have the resolution set to the highest, or did you see it with the default retina display?

    I think the issue is that
    1: retina display is scaling all graphics and then displaying them
    2: gs is not retina capable yet, so the images are scaled, and only the bottom quarter is shown.

    the issue occurs with all display settings, if resolution is set to the smallest, the default or the highest display.

    Straight up, an update is needed to support the retina display. The scaling is jacking it up.

    There are many apps out there right now experiencing similar issues.

    Probably down to the long standing 72dpi bug.

    I have the same problem. At first I thought I had made a mistake in setting up my own games, but then I tested Basic shoot 'em up and it has the same problem. I hope it is an easy fix and that it comes quickly since I am only using my Retina Macbook Pro for development now. At the moment I am stuck and unable to work.

    @slowcut - i have a work around!

    @saladstraightshooter - I'll submit a report as well, it would be nice to support it, but as long as it's a known issue for retina people that's good as well.

    By default OS X tries to open all applications in High Resolution mode, which is the doubling of the sizes, that leads to game salad to freakout:

    However, if you right click on the application and make sure you select "Open in Low Resolution", it opens normally:

    @jonmulcahy

    thanks for the workaround...it works. GS looks a bit blurry in low res on retina but, but other applications too, so we have to live with it I guess... and wait for an update

    Glad someone pointed me to this thread, I was beginning to think I was nuts with these weird display issues.

    And @slowcut Are you loving the new MacBook? I can't keep my co-workers off of it due to its sheer awesomeness. :)

    Excellent thread! I just received my new Retina Macbook and freaked out at first when GS didn't work correctly. All is now well :-)

    Excellent thread indeed, and a very needed workaround. However there's another workaround: there are some apps out there (Payed & Free) that let you force the Mac OS to be in the native (real not scaled) maximum resolution of 2880x1800 for the new MBP.
    You can find two of them in the link below, from the Wineskin Project:

    I've just tries to do it and it won't allow me to right click i have enabled right click and even added a mouse by usb. I've even spent ten minutes clicking everywhere on the application.

    you need to right click on the application file, not within the application itself

    the scene editor works fine for me with low res mode on...but the actor editor is having issues. When I edit an actor, the scene editor is displayed on top of the behaviors. anyone have this problem?

    Try deleting GS and the preference files and redownload
