I am really just doing this to play and for fun. I am a graphic designer/ Illustrator and I think it would be a cool thing to play around with.

So i'm starting slow. I took the cannon ball game and basically made some new graphics to simply replace the existing ones.. thats how I want to start.

So instead of shooting a ball out of a canon I want to shoot my dog out of the canon, and instead of taking out bricks, I want him to take out kitties.

SO i created the graphics and added them as "actors" but how to I replace them with the actual stuff? So i have the dog in there as an actor, but I would like to just replace the ball graphic with the dog graphic..

From there I will spend time learning more about the movements and actions, but it would be a good start.

I come from a web design background as well, So i was going to try and name the file the same thing and just upload it to th esame place, but I don't see that is going to happen since file paths aren't really the same in this program.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.. this is a REALLY cool thing!

    This should help you out:

Basically, within the cannon ball game, you already have a ball actor. Simply drag your new dog graphic onto the ball actor to replace the graphic. (See illustration in the above link. The instructions there go into more detail than what I'm writing here.)

Hope this helps. Have fun with GameSalad!

WOAH I am amazed with the amount of time you took to respond, thats AWESOME
I was just coming back to let you know that I figured it out! SUPER SIMPLE. Upload an image and drag it on top of the existing "actor"

I'm going to spend some time just redesigning the existing templates.. I'm DEFINITELY gonna add a little animated cape to my flying pooch and go from there.

Just a random non-game building related question. Can you really only play these games in safari??

You can also build a package to play it as a standalone game, but still mac only

well, Mac only is fine, because that's all I have.. I was thinking more along the lines of how to get the game out to the public (minus iphone).
