screen resolution problem?

i have the htc evo 3d or evo v for virgin mobile, and my app runs smooth as butter, but the top and bottom are not being used by the game, only black is on the bottom and top i was wondering why this would be...

    those devices prob just have a slightly different screen resolution that what you have published to. thats the biggest problem with android is the screen sizes. if your using iphone sizes it will for sure be large bars since the aspect ratio is way different than most android phones and if you use the kindle nook res it will look the best on most android devices but will still have small bars on top/bottom or sides one. Unfortunately its the nature of the beast.
