help needed - ipad update rejected because of version number

kolabokolabo Member Posts: 240
When I published my ipad app update with GS I made sure to increase the version number from 1.0 to 1.0.1.

Then, I made the necessary changes in iTunesConnect.

But, the update was rejected when uploading with apple's Application loader because the bundle version in the Info.plist file is not higher than the previously uploaded version.

I don't get it, what did I do wrong?
Only ideas I have now: Is it necessary to make a new distribution certificate for updates? Is 1.0.1 not a big enough increase?

I don't know for sure if they recognize the 3 point version system, but it doesn't appear to be so. You can ask for an expedited review, and re-submit with the version number 1.1 and I bet they approve it.

Ok, so I made a version 1.1 and it too was rejected by the Application Loader for the same reason: "Info.plist file is not higher than the previously uploaded version".

Is it possible the GameSalad publisher is not putting the change into the Info.plist of the file?

I'm using 9.9.2 by the way.

mystery of mysteries - after trying a different 1.0.1 version, and a 1.1 version, the original 1.0.1 version uploaded to apple! so where was the problem? I guess we'll never know

next to see if it passes review

@SlickZero Thanks for the advice on the expedited review. May give this a try!

Oh I see what you're saying now. I thought Apple rejected you because of the version number. It was the GameSalad publishing process.

Yeah, don't know what happened there.

I've had this issue while publishing other stuff to apple, completely un-related to gamesalad.....
it may be their script craps out from time to time.

It was annoying as hell when it happened to me, and was long enough ago that I can't remember the solution as to be more helpful :(

You were right the first time, SlcikZero It was Apple that rejected me (my app) because of the version number. Thing is, the updated version number was higher, and after a number of tries Apple accepted the update upload (to their server).

So it seems to be an Apple proplem thingy.
