Different positions on computer and GS Viewer

Hey guys, nice to be back...

I've been working on my new game the past few days, and today I started previewing on devices. I put it on my brother's iPod Touch (4th Gen.) and two of the actors were in different places, not by much, just a few pixels up/down. IS this a common problem??

Thanks!

    Well the actor is constrained to another actor, so the positioning should be the same both on the computer and on the viewer.

    I'm gonna do the display text thing right now and check the positions...

    Do a display text and tell it to splay its self.position.x

    then see what it says on the mac and then on the device.

    how much is it off?

    Just tried this out, and it really came as a shock to me when I saw that the X/Y positions on the device and on the computer were the same. However, visually they aren't the same.

    Could it be a GS problem, or specific to the device??

    Yes, this is true a few pixels off i had this problem a bunch just offset them and move on. Im on an iPhone4.
    In my opinion it is a gamesalad issue.

    Alright, that seems to be what I have to do here.....

    Have you made sure you've developed it for the right orientation and resolution? I'm just thinking the IPod may be trying to fit it on the screen meaning it has to expand or reduce the size of some graphics which could explain the difficulties occurring.

    @gamewizard99

    That could be the issue, but isn't the screen size the same for the iPhone and iPod touch?

    The latest iPhone is retina so is different to the 4th generation iPod Touch but it is the same screen size so even if the app you developed was at a higher resolution they should look about the same. I'm a bit confused, maybe you need to have resolution independence checked. Sadly, I haven't got to your stage of game development so I can't give a sure answer but just a few suggestions.

    Yea, i was confused when this happened too, so not really sure what's going on.

    Thanks for trying though!
