How big of a program is too big for iPhone/iPad?
Hey Everyone!
I have been working hard on a children's game app. I am getting towards the final stages and am a bit nervous about how big of a file size I should be working with, then exporting for general use. Currently the project is about 10 megs, which covers most of the sounds, graphics, and code. I would like to add a couple of songs, some more sound fx, and that is pretty much it. What size should I be shooting for/under?
Thanks!
Charles

When releasing for iphone i would not go over 20mb - It might hurt your sales since you cant download apps over 20mb unless you have wifi connection.
I don believe that iPad sales will be hurt that much from being larger, but i dont have any valid info to back it up. -

Correct me if I am wrong but I remember Apple bumped the limit up to 50mb.

Thenew limit is 50mb, so that's a good target to stay under only for downloading over cellular

Think of people downloading over networks so huge sizes can make an impact on a sale progressing or not.
10mb is nothing really.
The only thing that will really hurt your sales is making a bad product. People won't download terrible games just because they are downloadable over data network.
Make something good and you don't have to worry about the size.
GS might concider removing the warning in the GS creater when you exceed 20mb and bumb it up to 50mb.
When I finally published my game, it was somewhere around 80MB. A lot of players complained about the file size... saying it was too big.
