Kindle Rejection Due to Hibernation Mode - Help

Hello all. So, just got rejected from the Kindle because of the following:

"Metrop-A-Stomp was found to be incompatible because of issues with the app’s interaction with Kindle Fire's hibernation feature. Metrop-A-Stomp force closes, crashes, or loses user state after the device hibernates and then resumes. For more information, please see our Developer Blog post on how to optimize your app to handle hibernation for Kindle Fire."

Has anyone run into this and have a solid way to fix it? I had the Hibernate action in every scene, but I know that only works with Nook.

Thanks,
Chris

Try to remove the hibernate rules and submit again.

@MarkOnTheIron Can do. Does anyone out there know how to make the game automatically pause and unpause when you hit the power button on Kindle? That was part of the sticking point according to the blog post they linked. Not sure what the power button would be mapped as if I try and fake it as a keyboard etc. All help is, as always, appreciated.

I have 8 apps on the Amazon and Kindle stores and none of them have any pause or hibernation of sorts. Maybe I got lucky? :)

Yeah, I'm going to do some testing when I get home and see 1) Are the Nook hibernates actually causing issues? I am using the same build for both and, 2) If they have no effect either way, I am going to take them out and republish it to Amazon as a new app, Metrop-A-Stomp (Kindle Fire Ed.). A coworker told me that could help get a new reviewer and possible expedite the review process.

The Amazon process is pretty straightforward until you get to Fire approval. I hate how they won't even email you that it was rejected unless you ask. Grrr...

I've had the same problem, specifically with the new builds. Reverting back to .92 solved the issue. .93/94 is broken in terms of Android hibernation.

Just in case @deadlights is right, does anyone have the link to nab .92 again?

And down the rabbit hole we go. Does anyone know if it is OK to have two versions of GS installed on the same machine so long as they aren't in the same directory. I.e. I have 0.9.94 in the Applications folder and a 0.9.92 in a folder within Applications (Applications/GameSalad 0.9.92) Seems to be okay. Didn't know if they had any background files that will stomp on each other.

You can have two versions installed at once.

Yea it should be fine, but idk if you can open a project made with .94 in .92...something should pop up that says you need a newer version or something..

Hey, Gang. So, I was able to get a new version of Metrop-A-Stomp approved for Kindle Fire in 4 days after using the steps from my other post that @deadlights linked to above. Hope these help folks.
