How to create continuous background?

i am looking forward to create my first game. i would like to know how to have a continuous background like jetpack joyride or may other games where the nackground size is not limited. thanks.

    what i meant is like move the background in games like jetpack, where it is not restricted to the screen

    If your making a game similar to this video i would have all the backgrounds still and move the hero because moving large actors like backgrounds will tear them showing the scene background colour behind.



    This has a large scene and resets the hero back to the start so you could have different background images and swap them out when the hero reaches the end of the scene.

    i mean like that. but i find that the actor move out of the screen after completing the scene shown. how do i continue? should i stretch my background to like 3000X

    i mean width of 2000-3000.
