Chewing my nails GS

GS you have me chewing my nails waiting for an update so I can submit for ipad grand opening. I have one more day off from work to get it set up. Here is a thought for an update. Auto resize all graphics and actors based on which size format you choose. I know there would be some tweaking needed as the ratios are not equal. But what a time saver that would be to make versions for both iPhone and ipad with a resize button.

Does the current 1024x768 format offer portrait format? Because if not I would be resizing as well as trying to build this game with my head sideways

resize button would be useful, for me, then I could simple update the graphics in photoshop, import new higher res pngs and put the onto actors already the right size.

Obviously not as exciting as building from scratch making the most of the higher resolution. But would be good for churning out my current iphone creation specially for the ipad.

Also, as mentioned above, the aspect ratio is different. The iphone/touch is widescreen, whereas the ipad is a 4:3 aspect ratio.

This is killing me. We dint even know if GS is going to have ipad publish ready. Should I bother building my game sideways???? And if so which side would be top. Left or right?????

I hope that in the next update spawning performance is increased!
Or if not that the iPad will be able to spawn extremely fast!

Oh another thing to keep in mind for the iPad:

You may want to allow time for testing as we don't yet know what it's capable of. I'm going to run some tests early/mid April on my iPad-ized game before uploading (assuming GS is ready for iPad by then).

My hope is that the processor is a lot more capable and if so I'll switch all my character animation from 15fps to 30fps. Also I might reintroduce my background parallax disasters lol!

Also I will rearrange my layout somewhat as my character and interactive props won't necessarily need to double in size although I will make them larger, but it means they have a larger background to play in.

I may decide to change my touch controls after testing too.

So I guess what I'm saying is just resizing everything may not be adequate for every game. If the iPad makes GS more capable, then why not take advantage of that in the more processor heavy games?

My ideal schedule would be to have my iPad Stunt Fly ready (and iPad tested) by late April, with the iPhone/iPod version released two weeks earlier.

    Good luck all ;)

    Mike
