how much power does rotating an actor use

I was thinking of have all my 20 baddies rotate to face the actor rather than changing the animation into an 8 way system, because it seems smoother and requires less work in the art dept. How much CPU power will it use, having the actors constantly update their rotation to face the hero? Will i even save many FPS, right now I need to shed around 15FPS.

    The art will eat way more and its a pain go with what you have.
