Hi Guys!

I was shown GameSalad today by a friend from work and was blown away by this amazingly powerful, yet simple tool!

I've always had been interested in learning how to make games and branch out into the mobile game market, so im really stoked about this!

i'm a sound designer by profession, and a character designer/illustrator/animator on the side when i have the time. so, i really hope some good can come out of this!

...now, i was just wondering, in order to create some sort of side scrolling game with a character running through ( ie. kinda like metal slug), does GameSalad have the capabilities of creating AI in the game, for enemies and such? I would love to make a game similar to "Limbo". I'm just wondering if it really is possible?

I'll be sure to post more questions as a plow through this learning stage, if you can tolerate my n00bile questions. Thanks for your time!

Hi and welcome to GameSalad! I'm sure I speak for all of us here on the forums when I say that if you have any problems or questions, don't be afraid to ask for help!

Now, to answer you questions - Yes, there are already some games created with GameSalad that are very similar to Limbo. AI is complicated, but doable in some ways.

A good place to start learning would be over at this website, it has tons of video tutorials.

    Hi Mace -

The AI can be a little hard to code, at least for me it is. For some, it might be easier - I think it depends on what you are trying to do. If you want your enemies to walk around, then sure, that's easy enough. If you want them to follow you, it can be done also. Making something like tower defense could be more difficult - but it is doable in GameSalad.
