New Nook Rejection Reason - Disables Internal Suspension Mechanism?

edited July 2012 in Working with GS (Mac)
So, I uploaded an updated version of my approved app for Nook and it was rejected for the following reason: "Your application overrides the internal suspension mechanism. Our devises are set to suspend after 2 minutes of inactivity yet had not suspended after 5+ minutes. Please make sure your application allows user's devises to suspend according to their settings and resubmit."

Anyone have any idea what this is about? My first version which had all the hibernate/Android visual bugs made it through and has been selling well. This update fixed all that, but came back for this seemingly unrelated issue. Any ideas on how to handle it? Thanks.

If I remember correctly the inability to let the device go into sleep mode after some time of inactivity affect every GS game in every platform and device.

This problem however never caused a rejection to my memory, but maybe Nook reviewer are more picky than the review teams of other stores.

Which version did you publish with, 0.9.94?

@RacetotheMoon Yep. The initial version was also published with 0.9.94 without any issues of approval. Odd, huh? You try to fix something, and they won't let ya. ;)

@LiquidGameworks Yep. And I don't have a Nook handy to even test and see what they mean.

So, I'm thinking I just resubmit and hope for the best. Thoughts? Do we know if Nook reviewers have these notes pop up and will try it again?

It depends on how big their review team is :)

However you should have some chances that it will be reviewed by a different person. Maybe you just got unlucky that the person who reviewed your game needed to go to the bathroom (something long since he left for 5+ minutes ;) ) and left his nook on the table and when he returned he noticed that the device didn't go in sleep mode.

@MarkOnTheIron - Yeah, seems like an odd test to single out.

So, resubmitted and it was just approved. I swear, the inconsistentness of app approvals can drive you nuts. On the same token, when they find something like this that you can't fix, it actually helps.

I got rejected for this too, and was able to resubmit and it was approved yesterday. Weird.

The big picture item to take from this is currently it is bad testing that is letting the apps through as a policy clearly exists! If any of the reviewers (on any platform linked to devices) clamp down on this then we have an issue. Perhaps it should be mentioned to the GS support team. :-)
