Hi guys,

Aaaargh, my MAC has decided to finally die :-(

I'm just wondering if anyone can let me know what the minimum spec would be for a new kit that enables me to use GameSalad and submit to the app store.

Would a MacMini be ok running Snow Leopard?

Any advise would be great, otherwise I will pop into my local apple store and ask them (although I know they will naturally try and sell me the latest brand spanking new kit - which I would love, but unfortunately cant at the moment afford).

Cheers all,
Chris

I was developing with GS on a core solo 1.5 Mac Mini and it was MORE than enough ;-)

I've only just upgraded from the lowest spec 2006 white intel macbook. It still did everything needed, (photoshop, 3ds max, windows on parallels, GameSalad) but I finally upgraded a couple of weeks ago to f reconditioned 2011 macbook pro...theres no real change in my productivity it just looks shinier.

The white macbook was fine and ran OSX Lion (it wont support Mountain Lion when it comes out though, no big issue at the moment). It had 4Gb of ram, and I goy a hybrid HD with 8 gb of SSD. It's still going today and my wife uses it for little more than viewing facebook (bit shame when I know what its still capable of).

Not sure what they go for on ebay but I'd guess it would only be in the £300-£399 region now.

Good luck finding the dream machine...

    Hi guys,

Just brought a Man Mini on eBay for the bargain price of £190!!!! fingers crossed it arrives, works and I can install GS on it ;-)

Thanks for the advice guys, it feels odd not being able to mess around with my projects - only 7 days until its supposed to arrive.

    Cheers again,
    Chris
