Hi everybody, this is my first post. I am a 2D-3D animator and i discovered gamesalad a few months ago. I am really excited, i have 2 project in progress, and i have a question that blows my mind a week now.
I am trying to save as my game, but the new saved project, misses all the images? how can i solve this? for sure i cannot replace all my images to the new saved project, it will be really painfull because i have a lot of animated images also.
I would appreciate any help.

Are you using mac creator/windows creator?

Can you post the project example if it is project specific?

    Thanks

Where are you saving the project file (e.g. Documents/Desktop on local hard drive, DropBox, flash drive, etc.)? What happens if you create a new project file, add at least one image to an actor, and then Save As to a flash drive or DropBox account? Are you able to view the images then? What about downloaded template files... can you see the images in those? What about if you open an existing demo in the New--> area of GameSalad Creator?

Sorry for all the questions, but if you can answer them, we can rule out a few things. I'm guessing you have some kind of permissions issue on your computer; Repair Disk Permissions with Disk Utility might help.

It looks like you're trying to use the "Save As" option. I had the same problem as you and found out that that was the problem.

I resolved it by making copies of the project before opening them, that way I can save multiple versions.

yeap, that was it. Making copy from finder works just great. Thank you very much!

Copying instead of using save as worked for me too, thanks.

It obviously doesn't also copy the images when you do a save as to a different directory in mac os x.
I compared the size of the directory when I did a save as vs. when I did a copy - the save as version was only 300kb while the copied version was like 1.1mb.

Any plans to fix this GameSalad devs?

Well now I'm having the same issue. Running GameSalad 0.10.00 on OS X 10.7.4. When I do a Save As, the images are removed from the newly saved file. I'm also seeing several occasions where I try to save and am denied and then have to do a Save As (and lose my images). This occurs on several different computers.

I couldn't sign in all yesterday even after clearing my cache and cookies, but finally got it to work today.

I had meant to add to that post that I submitted a bug report at the time I posted.

Been having this problem too, since updating to 0.10.00 and updating to Mountain Lion.

Sent in a bug report around 3 weeks ago... good to hear its now getting looked into...

hopefully they can sort out a quick fix for it, and delay the upcoming release a little, to get the fix in, and tested... :)

ya, so I clicked save as new version, and all my images went missing from my folder. To fix it what I did on the mac was, select previous version of your project folder, Right Click, then Show Package Contents, then open Images Folder. Copy all images and then paste them into the version that has all missing images ;) LOST ALL MY SOUNDS too.
