Owls - Available Now!! - A matching game for kids. (jonmulcahy)
I'm finally ready to take the wraps off a matching game I've been working on for the past few mths. It's called Owls, and it's coming to the iPad, Kindle Fire and Nook, hopefully in the next week.
This game is built heavily on top of tables. Everything is in two scenes, the main menu, and the game itself. When playing the game, each level's background, owl types, and owl locations is pulled from tables. Thanks to some online random number generators, there are 999 levels, and each one is randomly designed, from the owl types to their destination. In any given level, there are 13 different owl pairs on the screen (out of 30), going to 26 different locations.
For each level I am tracking the completion time, and the number of stars gained, and again, it's all stored in tables. It would have taken thousands of attributes to do this before, and instead I have a single levelStatistics table.
Hopefully the game does well, my 15 mth old daughter loves the images, so that's something

Comments
@suzyann525 thanks! I actually bought all The graphics from a stock website, made it much easier that way.
@deadlyseriousmedia thank you. i went through a whole bunch of iterations before deciding on that one.
@uptimisitk thank you! i spent a lot of time making sure everything was just about perfect from my eyes.
@praj thanks! but i can't take credit for the graphics, i got them all mostly from various stock websites. The levels are all based in tables. Once I built one, the number of levels was really based on GS's limitation of 999 rows in a single table.
@beefy_clyro thanks! my daughter loves the images, but she's still a bit too young to
really get how to play, but maybe in a few more months.
Darren.
Just uploaded two gameplay videos to youtube, partly to just get more awareness of the game, but also to show performance / gameplay on the iPad3 & Kindle Fire:

@jonmulcahy
Looking terrific, Jon, excellent stuff; really nicely done! Great for the kids; hope sales go well for you. :-)
It's coming up on 8 business days since it's been submitted, so it should hopefully enter review on tues/wednesday for the iPad
I have a similar system as you where the season automaticly changes ( http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/46567/bumpy-gamesalad-only-press-release#latest ). In my version it changes due the season in real life using the clock feature. Is it the same in your game?
Your looks cool and good luck with sales!
Thanks,
Fredrik
@goliath thanks, I'll keep everyone posted.
@pan_joshua. Thank you, I hope they do.

Did I miss anything?
Let us know how the sales are! Of course, I don't expect them to be bad!
Good luck!
