scrolling background?

I have a background that 480 x 320 and I want it to keep repeating (basically spawning) from right to left so it looks like the actor (who is stationary on the bottom left corner) is actually moving. I want it like as one background is moving off the screen to the left, the next one to come on at the same speed from the right. How would I do that?

I followed the steps and all it did was go toward the bottom left corner and not spawn another. Do you know what's wrong?
