Kiip... why is there so little info available...

Whats up with the smoke screen here...
There is little to no info, besides the tutorials on how to implement kiip, on this website...
The pro users of gamesalad deserve, at least, a dashboard that gives them info about their kiip rewards and acheivements (and why is there a button to the kiip website in the creator? According to Kiip, there is nothing for a gamesalad user there.)
We also deserve thorough debugging and troubleshooting tools. (at the very least, behaviors marked as debug only, and an option to strip a project of debug behaviors before publishing)

But more importantly, why is it so hard to get an educated response in regards to these types of questions...
Only people who have paid $300 will have these types of questions...

My issue right now, is that I have a game, that works as intended in iOS.
Kiip shows up in the creator... Kiip shows up in a test build for iOS, ad-hoc for iOS, and I imagine it will show up in the published game (under review by apple now)...
Same exact project file, Changed the build target and the screen size...
Shows Kiip in the creator... no sandbox for android so no "test" builds... signed APK emailed to myself... No trace of Kiip.
APK downloaded from the market... no trace of Kiip.

And zero resources available to diagnose the problem myself. Believe me, Ive tried.
Contacted Kiip, nothing for me...
Contacted Gamesalad support, and they just keep copying and pasting the same response over and over again to me...
They are unable to open email attachments, pushing me to dropbox my project file to them... and after 4 days and 11 emails they have offered not 1 kernel of even a possible solution.

Has any other Pro user successfully implemented any aspect of Kiip in their android app?
Im beginning to feel ripped off...

As far as I Know Kiip works on Android. Not Kindle and Nook versions but all other android builds it should work on.

I understand the Kiip and Playhaven reporting leaves a massive amount to be desired. but they are working to implement a better reporting system so you can actually see how you games are doing. So they are working on it.

As far as your thread no ones trying to screw you over and threads claiming so are not going to help move things along. I would almost venture to bet Your emails run along the same theme and its probably annoyed someone into not making your questions a priority. Thats just pure speculation though as i'm NOT a GS employee and I don't speak for the company. Thats just what I would do.

    Cheers

@tenrdrmer Do you have Kiip working in any android application?

Also, where did you find the information in regards to Kiip not working for Kindles and Nooks, because I have been looking for answers to that as well.

    From Kiip.me:
" Your gamers can win one of our premium rewards at any time. Our premium rewards can be anything from a Kindle Fire to an XBox360. When and how often they will appear is determined by our algorithm but it's our way of thanking our developer for partnering with us!"

Kiip gives away kindles but kindles don't support Kiip?

Kiip Supports more with Their SDK than GameSalad supports. Meaning Just because Kiip can work on a platform does not mean gamesalad has enables it in their projects on those platforms. Im trying to get an official Answer for you.

Im trying to get an official Answer for you.
thats about 50% of the point of this thread... Googled for an hour and I still don't know.
The only thing I could find on the subject at all are 3 month old gamesalad forum posts that were never answered.

The other 50% of the point...
are there any gamesalad pro users who have successfully implemented Kiip for android?
I thought they would be easier to find.

I don't think this is right... but should the Kiip achieve and leaderboard info I entered into Gamesalad Creator be mirrored at the Kiip.me website?
I have an account, and could log in and make all the achievements and leaderboards again, but logically, I cant see how the 2 would be connected.

Just to add a question here :
Has there been any payment dates for Kiip/Playhaven yet?

I only implemented play haven into one of my games a fair ways after it was introduced, so am assuming there are live apps that have had these 2 in for a while now.

The OP is being ridiculous, but it WOULD be a good thing to have some sort of interface where we could see stats for our Kiip and/or Playhaven enabled games.

I'm somehow doubtful you purchased a Pro membership purely to utilize Kiip. I take claims of being, "Ripped off" very seriously - GameSalad isn't "ripping you off". It's important to note that this is the first time we've received a complaint of this type and investigation is necessary...hence why your project was requested. Without a project its exceptionally difficult to divine what the issue might be.
I don't think the original poster is being too unreasonable. It was stated, "I'm beginning to feel ripped off." It's a person's perspective. And while it may not be reality, as I don't think GameSalad is trying to rip people off, it's still an unsatisfied customer.

I'm kinda puzzled why GameSalad does this. Are you making money with a special relationship with Kiip? If so, is it really worth it to leverage your "Professional" subscribers?

I don't think it's a good idea to limit customers that pay $299 a year. Why can't GameSalad developers add their own Kiip code and manage their own Kiip accounts? Why can't they have the freedom to choose their own advertisement system... like AdMob?

I think that's my biggest issue with GameSalad... it's a sandbox. I think if GameSalad was more open to customizations, this bright and creative community could do some amazing things... so which is better for the longterm health of the company/software?

An unsatisfied customer is one thing - however, his complaint was aimed at customer support
Ah, well... I think GameSalad customer support is ace. That's one of the things that I felt was very good about a Pro subscription.
You bring up AdMob quite a bit - on this we disagree. AdMob has brand recognition and that's about it. People see it on games like Fruit Ninja and assume they'll be raking in the dough. That's not the case.
The funny thing is... I don't even like AdMob.

I do like options and I like the idea of alternatives... but I don't like the idea of waiting for reports. That's one of the limits... the limit is in the lack of timely reporting. This is one of the weird things that I see about a pro GameSalad subscription. What other software does this? What other alternative to GameSalad gets involved with payments and reporting?
I can't speak to the exact details of why allowing GameSalad developers to "add their own code" might be a more complex prospect than you suggest, and runs counter to the drag and drop interface we present as well as its ease of use.
Of course it's complicated to setup, but GameSalad used to have Xcode exporting. Additionally, code mode and drag-and-drop is not mutually exclusive.

I have not seen much in the way of promoting Klip/Playhaven and its benefits except for a recent post talking about profits people had made.
It seems to me there needs to be more energy in promoting the benefits of the products - perhaps a lack of promotion reflects their failing? I am not sure, but a lack of info breeds perceptions like these.

GS gives me the choice (thank god) to use or not use these products and I will not until I see some serious evidence of their viability, reporting and profits.

(this is feedback Klip/Playhaven/GS can use)

For the record: I like AdMob :)

Your claims of "they can't open an attachment" were after several attempts by Support to acquire the attachment you claimed to have sent which, I noted via the support contacts, we did not receive.
My "claims" are very easily validated by screenshots...
But I don't think I need to go there.
I'm not trying to be unreasonable, and I apologize if I come off a bit rough.
I have been using Gamesalad for a month. Its great. Im impressed with what game salad can do, and what I have been capable of accomplishing with it, even before I bought pro last week.
Thats kind of where my complaint lies as well...
With so many things that it does so well, I guess I just expected more from a couple of the pro features.
While the instructions for implementing Kiip are great and easy to follow. There isn't much there about anything outside of the direct instructions.
I looked to the Kiip website for info, and there was all sorts of debug tools and ways to test what exactly is being sent and received. That seemed to be exactly what I needed to figure out what was going on but anything even remotely close to that was clearly missing.
Close to no information was available on the forums in regards to this.
I'm really just looking for more robust debugger output, or at least a way to strip a project of "Debug Only" behaviors. With tools like that I wouldn't need to use the forums or customer support as much or at all when I have these types of questions. I would be able to hunt down the source of the problems myself in a reasonable amount of time.

In Short, I am digging game salad quite a bit. I think some of the pro features need refinement. I also think there is a lot of information that would benefit developers if we had the ability to view it.
Not a dissatisfied customer, Just had high expectations. And I'll admit that with the amount of information available to me, That I was wrong in having those expectations.

In less than a month, I have finished a game, made kindle/nook/android version and an iPhone and iPad versions, and started 2 more games.
Ive been able to make advanced AI, using (a lot of) simple rules and Im beginning to be able to do some really cool things using game salad.
So I'm a "satisfied" customer, I was just expecting to be amazed.
