Countdown HELP! (how to add bonus time?)

So I just encountered a problem. I made a countdown using tshirtbooth's tutorial on youtube and it works fine. The thing is now I want to add 15 sec when a certain points number is reached. (ever 50 points add 15 sec to the timer) How would I go about doing that? I tried a rule but it won't add the time at all. I think it's because it's using the internal clock that's why. So how else would I do this? Thanks in advance!!!
p.s. i also have trouble with the timer sometimes when it is paused, I remember the timer was messed up when I was playing around with it before.
