Awesome stuff. I have been playing drums for long (20+ years) and vocals for the last couple of years so I have been around the amateur scene for a while and know some stuff but having it explained this well is very helpful. Specially part 5 about frequencies because the only thing I ever managed to do in our practice room is make a lot of feedback just kidding. Cheers!
Cheers mate and Thanx. Yes frequency is the key to real mixing and after that is carving frequency with parallel compression which is very complicated work.
It will help me a lot with my home recordings. In most of my apps I have a main music track. It's sometimes difficult to get the sound effects right. I have a hovering actor in one of my games making a low woo woo sound. All great with headphones or big speakers but it was completely gone on the iPhones speakers. So I pumped up its volume close to clipping but now I'll start looking if I can get it done by eq. Thanks again for the tutorials!
