Up a creek without a Lion (need help)

Hello,
I am in a slight predicament. I upgraded my iPad2 OS and now cannot use the viewer but cannot download Lion (traveling in a 3rd world country with terrible internet) to update my Xcode.
Would someone be able to provide me a barebones template that has a pong style paddle that shifts left or right if the device is tilted left or right? I'm just not sure how this works and cant test my theories on the ipad. Willing to pay for it if need be.
