Release Date for My App

My app was approved. I realize that the best date to release is Thursday so I have a chance to be New and Noteworthy for next week. The problem is that I heard that if I wait to release it, then I won't be on the new releases list. Not sure if all of that info is correct now but I am wondering what you think I should do.
I read this on a site: Release date: This defaults to the current date, but you can set it to a date in the future if you like. When your app is approved, you'll want to log back into iTunes Connect and reset the release date to the approval date; that way the app will show up at the top of the new releases section of its category. If you fail to do this, then when your app gets approved it'll show up buried several pages down - not very desirable.

MarkOnTheIron Posts: 1,447You will need an extreme dose of luck to have the Release Date of your app to match the exact Release Date you set on iTC. 99% of the times you will have your app released on the intended date but with the Release Date of the approval day (that could be many days behind and so you will miss the new release list).
If you don't want to mess things up the safest practice is to wait until the app is approved and then immediately set the Release Date to the same day or the day after. That way you will be almost sure to be on the new release list.
It's a big lottery.
