I know this is a weird question, but all the time I see people taking previews of their app on their phone. I know you can take an internal video by pressing power button and home button, but how would you take a video of your phone?

Thanks.

    Use another camera to film yourself playing on the phone...

    @jamie_c

    How would you make it not show your fingers then?

    Try SoundStage on the Mac App Store.

    I believe you may mean you can take an internal screen grab/picture by pressing power button and home button. There is no way for recording video directly on your phone unless it jail broken. You can however use the DVI adapter into a capture device and record the mirrored screen that way.

    Or as Jamie_c suggested use another camera to record yourself playing on the phone...

    If you mean in youtube videos, it can be done by jailbreaking. If you install Veency off of Cydia, and then install Chicken of the VNC on your mac, you can have remote control of your iPhone and the screen appears on the mac. The remote control is why you don't see fingers. Then a screen recording software is used on the mac. Just one of the many reasons you should jailbreak your devices :)
