Hey, guys. Would it be possible to make a SimCity-esque game? I'm thinking of trying to do so, and I was thinking of implementing lots of different cool stuff. I was thinking stuff like citizens could be angrier or happier depending on multiple factors such as how many houses there are, whether or not they have electricity, the tax rate, the amount of work available in the job market, and other stuff like that. I was thinking also, that when you built a building, be it house or workplace, you got income from it, seeing as you put it there. And, the more money you have, the more stuff you can buy, i.e additional land, bigger more profitable buildings, and stuff like that. Do you think soimething like that could be possible? I've already seen some complex games on Gamesalad Arcade, so why couldn't this one be made. The only things I'm wondering before I'd ever get started are: How could I make my game snap-to-grid style? And, how could I implement stuff like citizen happiness into the game? TY.

Yes, I have a lot of game ideas, but I'm full of ideas that, due to the hardness of other game engines, I couldn't figure out how to do it. Here's to hoping Gamesalad's simplicity doesn't force my ideas into the same fate. :P

something sim city like could be achieved with a LOT of work and learning.i think the thing is if you have to ask if game salad can do something that complicated, you probably aint yet ready to tackle it. take some time on smaller projects first

Yeah. I think I'll try my best to push through with this. I'll need to take it 1 small step at a time. I really want it to be a game where you can't win or lose, and there's no true goals. Just try your best to make a working, functional city. :) I want features such as:

Citizens are happier or sadder, depending on the job market, amount of recreational places, whether or not they have electricity, how much they are being taxed, and a few other things like that. Then, with the houses that people would own, I would try to implement a tax rate, like (x) dollars every 10 seconds or so, and, like I said, the higher the (x) is, the angrier the people living there will be. The only trouble I think I'd run into is: How can I make my game snap-to-grid style? I want to play the game this way. Then, I'd need to learn how to add an element of number of citizens, citizen happiness, taxes, and a money system. I'd need to figure out how to add a radius of electricity per telephone pole, or figure out a way to box around a neighborhood with telephone poles. There's definitely going to be some intense thinking involved. LOL.

There are many snap to grid templates in the creator although I don't know of anyone else who made an isometric grid which I made a while ago but I think I may use it in the future.
