Best way to approach a platformer level?

Hello,
i am creating a platformer fighting type game and i was wondering what the best way is to create a level for a platformer?

    Check these out, or build some test models following these examples. This will will give you a good foundation to start on. Check out the cookbook tab above. There are additional vids on youtube that are function specific.

    You really need to be more specific. But I'd say the first step is to figure out what the core mechanic is. Jumping, fighting, shooting, stealth, etc. You need to figure out the mechanics of the game itself in a test level before you make anything that resembles a final level. Good luck!

    I decided that my game would be a ninja fighting his way through monsters/bad guys to fight the final boss. There will be double jumping and wall jumping involved along with some sword attacks and power ups
