My app got rejected because GameSalad DisplayText
Help,
My app got rejected because I used GameSalad DisplayText
>We found the user interface of your app is not of sufficient quality to be appropriate for the App Store. Apps that provide a >poor user experience are not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.
>Specifically, we noticed your app needs improved UI - the text is pixelated and blurry as seen in the attached screenshots.
I am using "Display Text" to display text from a table. The text is dynamic so I can't pre-build the image using Photoshop.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bob D

@BobD
Woah, that's worrying for you, Bob (and for all of us)... just to check, this is using the Mac GSC? It's sounding like a bug to me, surely.... text from Display Text behaviour via a table not working as it should....
Sorry I can't suggest anything practical other than display your text without using tables for the while.... which I'm sure you won't want to do....
Interesting to see what other members say about this.....

And you buttons are a little blurry, make sure they are @2x the actual size for clear images.
Weird. <--- I before E except after C does NOT always work!
This is a worrying development if true.
Looking at the screen capture shows the text to look like it is a lo-res graphic and nowhere near even the average quality of Display Text text?
I have to say @BobD the graphics look pretty rough in general, are you sure you are working to correct specs?
That is SMALL text and I would not use such as small size on an iPhone app. I am not surprised it looks bad. And I must say again are you absolutely sure this resolution independent??? It really does not look like it is.
@LycetteBros that's right. Retina display is now on the world market for 2 years. We need that it's all retina support (splash screen, font, etc.). Now IF a new iphone is coming with a bigger screen we need that more! Please @GameSalad work on this!!!

If Apps start to get rejected because of the Display Text inadequacies then GS WILL have to make improvements, they have an implicit interest in fixing such issues.
So @Jugger you cannot lose in any case.
Anyway, hopefully this thread will speed things up
On a personal note, I can understand the good intention of submitting a project file but seriously guys, make a new actor and drag over "display text" behavior to see the lack of retina in the text, it's much less of a hassle .
Roy
Thanks GameSalad
Don't get me wrong I'm supporting your new methods of handeling things and it wasn't my intention to go against it. What I meant, and I also wrote it in my post, is that the lack of retina text is not a bug, it's a lack of feature, therefore i see no reason to send a bug report with a project file regarding this..
To me it like I say " I want Facebook integration so I send you guys a project to take a look at" , just sounded a weird thing to do from my point of view, that's all.
Cheers
Roy.
Definitely making the font size bigger is a good idea.
