What methods are available to sell your app as? I'm a noob to iphone/gs

Just to start off, I would like to set the price to free and make money through either ads, in app purchase, or try-and-buy...My question is, which of these options are possible with GS? I really like the try-and-buy model, if that's not available, could I just make say 30% of the game open and then have a pop-up or whatever saying they need to buy the in app purchase which would basically unlock the game? Thanks!

    1. Paid games.
    2. Free games.
    3. Paid games with ads.
    4. Free games with ads.
    5. Paid games with additional in-app purchases.
    6. Free games with additional in-app purchases.
    7. Paid games with ads, and additional in-app purchases.
    8. Free games with ads, and additional in-app purchases.

So could you give me an example of how you would set up an in-app purchase?

You can make 10 levels for free, and add additional 40 levels for 0.99 USD :)

haha I get that, I just mean, how would you do it in Gamesalad? Do you need the professional GS or what? I haven't seen anything about ads or purchasing algorithms while programming so far. Thanks for responding btw

IAP is pro only. You need to set up the IAP in iTunes Connect, assign a unique identifier to it, then use the relevant behaviour with GS creator (visible only with pro). Similar with iAds, a very simple drag/drop behaviour (again only visible with pro).

As a free user you are forced to have PlayHaven ads inside your published game (but you don't get any money from these ads).
If you want to turn them off, add your ads, earn from ads, or add in-app purchases you have to buy GS Pro membership 299 USD/year, and Apple dev account 99 USD/year (to publish games, and set up iAds, and/or in-app purchases, and other stuff).

hey thanks for all the info guys. So if I were to remain on the free GS version, you can basically only sell it as a paid app if you want to earn $ correct?

oh thats cool then, well hopefully my first game will make me some decent cashflow because I really believe in the try before you buy purchase model. (so that I can buy the pro version)
