Just needed a break from putting the final touches to our latest game.
Always seems like that last 10% of work is the bit that takes the most time to get done.

polish polish polish etc

the real suck is that the last 10% of the last 10% takes 80% of the 80%

Totally agree! Sometimes you just want to give up. But is there anything more fun to do?

Yeah.. I always get a little burned out and a little bummed out at this stage.
But even so... this game, by the end, will have had a really quick 2month turnaround, from initial "let's do this" to us submitting to Apple.

Thanks to Gamesalad allowing a musician/producer (me) and a graphic designer (the other Mark) to become makers of games :)

Hmm. I seem to add the polish even at the beginning of the project. When I make something new I always try to make it stand out. When I get close to finish it only takes a couple of days. I guess I'm different.

It's not so much polish from a graphical standpoint. As Mark has the design planned out pretty much from the start.

It's more all the little things that make it a better experience for the player. Making sure everything runs as solid as poss, fixing up any little bugs here and there.
Like, I spent a whole day, fixing a bug that didn't really happen by accident in the game when you were playing, you had to be looking to make it break, to make it break...and even then, it didn't really "break".
We spent another day, tweaking button sizes after our first round of play testing. 2px her or there do actually make a difference to the user's experience.

    etc.
