Hey, I'm starting my first app.
I have used Adobe fireworks before however when i'm making my vector (slanted rectangle) it comes out fuzzy, I am using a soft pixel and effects such as inner bevel etc that make it look a bit 3d ish.
Any tips on how to solve this?

Also what do you guys use to create the images used in your apps.

I use fireworks - its a superb piece of kit. If your image is blurry, check that when you are resizing, the image isnt increasing insize. I noticed this and it made an animation really blurry after a while.

But of course, in fireworks, you can animate pretty quickly.

most times images get fuzzy when 72 dpi and scaledUp

anti-aliasing will make the diagonal/curved lines/outlines less jagged

you can do in most any imageEditor … with Filters

or you can use ImageAlpha (Mac) for 'smoothing'

I have several imageEditors … Gimp is my favorite and most used!

I've been exploring Inkscape and the tutorials of sprite attack and others on the web. It's now my drawing tool of choice!!! Next one to learn is gimp!

I love Illustrator. I couldnt do anything without it. Are they blurry because of the size?

Pixelmator, it's easy, cheap, and all you really need to produce quality graphics.

No it's not due to the size I think it's because the image is slanted. It's at 300 dpi and that has helped a bit but it's still not App Store worthy
